Lawson is a multi-national ERP software house, providing business solutions, services and support to customers within a variety of sectors, but primarily the maintenance, manufacturing, distribution, and services industries. Early in 2012 Lawson was acquired by Golden Gate, Infor.
Lawson is similar to many other ERP systems in that it is released in stages and is upgraded and improved from version to version, with service pack upgrades in the interim.
Lawson software can be split into two parts: S3 and M3.
S3 is people focused: designed to help its customers to “staff, source and serve”
M3 is production focused: designed to help its customers to “make, move and maintain” goods and equipment.
Lawson is similar to other software houses, in that it provides a 360° solution to its customers, whereby it consults, tests, migrates, implements, supports and finally trains staff in how to get the best from their software.
